Proper Use Guidelines

What our products ARE designed for:

EU Food Contact Approved Silicones:

  • Soft (22 Shore A): Siliconen Culinair® - FDA approved and TÜV certified
  • Medium (40 Shore A): ELASTOSIL® VARIO 40 - FDA 21 CFR §177.2600 and BfR Recommendation XV compliant
  • Firm (55 Shore A): ELASTOSIL® M 4670 A/B - FDA and BfR compliant

All materials meet EU food contact requirements and are free from:

Daily Care Instructions

Cleaning Your Chewelry:

  1. Hand washing: Use warm water and mild dish soap. Rinse thoroughly and air dry.
  2. Dishwasher safe: Top rack only. Use normal cycle without heated dry.
  3. Deep cleaning: For thorough sanitizing, boil in water for 3-5 minutes monthly.
  4. Do NOT use: Bleach, harsh chemicals, or abrasive cleaners.

Storage:

  • Store in a clean, dry place
  • Avoid exposure to extreme heat (over 280°C) or direct contact with heating elements
  • Keep away from sharp objects that could puncture the silicone

Regular Safety Inspections

Check your chewelry BEFORE each use:

  • Look for any tears, cracks, or punctures in the silicone
  • Examine attachment points on chains/cords for wear
  • Feel for any rough or sharp edges that may have developed

Replace immediately if you notice:

  • Damage or deterioration due to extended use
  • Changes in texture or flexibility
  • Unusual odor or discoloration
  • Loose or damaged chain/cord components

Chain & Cord Safety

Stainless Steel Chains:

  • Inspect clasps and links regularly for wear
  • Do not pull or tug excessively
  • Remove if skin irritation occurs

Adjustable Cords:

  • Check knots and adjustment mechanisms
  • Ensure cord remains securely attached to pendant
  • Replace if fraying or weakening occurs

Length Considerations:

  • Standard lengths are designed for safe adult/teen use
  • Ensure chain/cord length is appropriate for your needs
  • Avoid overly long cords that could present entanglement risks

Temperature Guidelines

Safe Temperature Range: -40°C to +280°C

  • Normal use and cleaning temperatures are well within safe limits
  • Do not expose to open flames or direct heat sources
  • Products may become temporarily softer in very hot conditions

When to Replace Your Product

Typical Lifespan: 6-12 months with regular use Replace sooner if:

  • Daily use exceeds 4-6 hours
  • You are a particularly heavy chewer
  • Any safety inspection reveals damage
  • The silicone becomes noticeably softer or harder than when new

Allergy Information

Rare but possible reactions:

If pieces are accidentally ingested:

  • Small pieces of food-grade silicone are generally safe to pass through the digestive system
